Navigate to the W-2 Express website (see Resources). This website provides access to your W-2 information online, if your employer subscribes to the service.

Type your employer's tax ID number into the "Employer Name or Code" field on the Web form. You can obtain your employer's tax ID number by looking at your paycheck or a direct deposit pay stub; if it's not listed there, contact your human resources department to obtain the number.

Complete the electronic W-2 consent form, which will require you to input your Social Security number, date of birth, mailing address and email address.

Check your email in early January for your W-2 tax information. Download your W-2 to compute your taxes online or print out a copy and attach to your tax return if you file by mail.
