Ideas for Decorated Cub Scout Cakes

Friendship Cake
A cake surface can form a backdrop for an outlined drawing of the Cub Scout Handshake. Dark icing applied through an icing bag's round tip can outline the index and middle fingers of one Cub Scout's right hand touching the other Cub Scout's hand. Their long-shirt sleeves and buttoned cuffs can also show. The words "Law of the Pack" can complement this image.
Events
A Cub Scout cake can announce the next local or international event. For example, to celebrate a camping trip, the boys can take turns with the icing bag as they write details such as the campsite and date on the cake surface. For individual cupcakes, one letter can decorate one cupcake, such as L-A-K-E. For the Blue and Gold banquet, the icing can spell out international events, such as "World Scout Jamboree, Sweden 2011," on a large cake.
Symbols
Symbols such as the fleur-de-lis can also top a cake. The World Crest worn by 28 million Scouts features a royal purple background and center motif encircled with a knotted rope. For the wolf emblem, Scouts can pour sprinkles or colored sugar through a paper stencil of the wolf's head or body. If the troop or pack has a goal they would like to see commemorated in this treat, the icing can form the words and symbols, such as "bio-diversity" and trees.
Personalized
The cake can show the Cub Scouts' pride with their pack or troop number written in blue icing. Gold foil can wrap the cake board to display the blue and gold symbolism. If the pack or troop hosted a fundraiser, the symbols of the goal or products sold can decorate the cake. If the pack showed strength in a certain area of achievement, such as academics, the cake can showcase the badge or award.
Sculpted Cake
With a few slices of a knife, Cub Scouts can transform their cake into a small model, such as a pup tent. A rectangular cake cut at approximately 45-degree angles can form an A-frame tent. One large tent or many smaller tents can top a campsite scene with a forest of model trees or green frosting trees. Orange or red candies can resemble a campfire with crushed or powdered candy for ashes.
