What is Google Webmaster Tools(updated)

Website owners want to make their
website clean and error-bug free.
There are many solutions available
for this, but Google Webmaster
Tools is the best tool to check
website errors and to remove them.
The tool also gives you info about
how Google indexes your website
pages, how many pages of your
website have been indexed, etc.
To register for Google Webmaster
Tools, you must have a Google
Account. You can register for
Google Webmaster Tools at https://
www.google.com/webmasters/
tools/
Site Verification:
Before accessing the Google
Webmaster Tools, you have to
verify your site. You can verify your
site by four different methods. You
can upload a blank HTML file, Add a
Meta Tag, Change your DNS server,
verify with Google Analytics. After
that, you will have access to all
webmaster tools features.
The Dashbord:
The dashboard shows various
website details on a single page. It
shows Search Queries, Crawl
Errors, Keywords, Links to your
site, Sitemaps. You can click on
More to get more info about specific
tool.
1. Site Configuration:
Site configuration shows various
links to the tools. It includes
Sitemaps, Crawler access, Sitelinks,
Change of address, Settings.
(1) Sitemaps:
In sitemaps, you can submit your
sitemaps to Google, so Google
could index them. It shows the
submitted URLs from your sitemap,
how many of them indexed in
Google Search Engine. You can
delete and resubmit sitemaps, too.
(2) Crawler Access:
This shows you how Google
indexes your site, you can prevent
Google from crawling specific pages
from your website. For this, you
can create a Robots.txt file on your
webhost.
(3) Sitelinks:
Sometimes, while searching on
Google, it shows links to interior
pages of a website. This is that. Here
you can see the generated sitelinks
to your interior pages of your
website. You can also remove them
from here.
(4) Change of address:
This is useful when you move your
site. When you move to another
domain, configure this tool to have
google redirect your visitors.
(5) Settings:
Here you can change advanced
settings of your webmasters tools,
you can create parameters which
Google can avoid to crawl.
2. Your site on the web:
This tool shows your site position
on Google. It has links to Search
queries, Links to your site,
Keywords, Internal links, Subscriber
stats.
(1) Search queries:
This tool shows you search queries
which have taken visitors from
Google search to your site. It shows
you impressions for the keywords.
(2) Links to your site:
This tool shows you your site’s
linked contents on other sites. Here
you can see how many websites
have linked your site content, how
much links each site has linked.
(3) Keywords:
This tool shows you your site
keywords Google found while
crawling your site. It shows
keyword and its significance.
(4) Internal links:
This tool shows internal links from
your site pages to your site pages. It
shows links to your pages from
your site internal pages.
(5) Subscriber stats:
This tool shows you your blog
subscribers. It shows how many
people have subscribed to your
blog via RSS or Atom feeds.
3. Diagnostics:
Diagnostics shows you your site
problems, suggestions. It has links
to Malware, Crawl errors, Crawl
stats, HTML suggestions.
(1) Malware:
When Google finds any malware on
your site, it shows them in this
section. Here you can see malware
detected by Google.
(2) Crawl errors:
This shows you errors Google
found while crawling your site. You
can fix these errors to let Google
crawl your site easily without
errors.
(3) Crawl stats:
This shows you your site crawl
stats. It shows pages crawled per
day by Google, Kilobytes download
per day.
(4) HTML suggestions:
This tool gives you suggestion
about your site HTML, how can you
improve your site by making minor
changes in HTML, etc. It shows
duplicate, missing contents, so you
can remove them and decrease
bounce rate.
These are the uses of Google
Webmaster Tools, hope these will
